Electrocatalytic water splitting is deliberated as an assuring track to use renewable energy for the production of hydrogen; yet, its industrial application limited by anodic oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Perovskite oxide-based materials have been comprehensively explored catalysts OER in alkaline media, with (electro)chemically persuaded alteration their initially crystalline surface into amorphous state. This perspective highlights features double perovskite electrocatalyst particular, oxygen-deficient double-perovskite multiple cationic redox sites. The rational reordering A- and B-sites, along vacancy, lead generation array novel catalysts. A new signifier stability level also projected highlight relationship between performance catalyst. descriptor will offer potential strategies optimize catalytic tuning structure double-perovskites.
